November News In 3rd Grade

Hello Parents,

As you know looking at all the work, assignments, and tests we have been very busy in our 3rd grade class. I am very proud of all of my students. At the beginning of March we had the Carden Book Fair. It was a great success, and a lot of fun for the children. I received many interesting books from my parents, and I want to thank you. The children have been reading many of these books during our "Silent Sustained Reading Time." Thank you for increasing the books in our classroom library.

This March 25th  will begin our Spring Break , and class will reconvene on April 8th. We will have an assembly, and our class will perform a poem at that time. We will perform again on the 12th, with the other 3rd grade class.

If the weather stays warm I plan to schedule a Bake Sale to benefit the Agoura Animal Shelter. This is a important and fun fundraiser for the children. They have been learning a lot of information about the treatment of animals in the book we are reading as a class, called Black Beauty. Hopefully, our fundraiser will make them feel good about giving back, and helping poor, homeless animals in our community.

Last of all I have scheduled a field trip to our local Chumash Indian Museum on Monday, May 6th. They have a new policy which allows only three adults to attend. That includes Mrs. Martin and myself. They seem quite firm, and requested that the chaperones stay with the students at all times, for better behavior. I will be sending you more details as we get closer to our date.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Habib
